Cell phone for Tyler?

Well, we are thinking about it.  There are times now that we are leaving him home alone and we don’t have a home phone.  Trent has a cell and I have a cell.  So if Trent & I run to the grocery store and leave Tyler home, then we leave my cell and take Trent’s cell.  Numbers are programmed in speed dial and he knows how to use the phones so we are all good.  But the dilemma comes when Trent is at work (taking his cell with him) and I go somewhere and leave Tyler at home.  I generally leave my cell with him, but then he can’t get ahold of me.  He hasn’t ever called us (or anyone else) while we are gone because he is content to play by himself, but we leave it for emergencies.  And not that we want him to have any emergencies, but emergencies are called emergencies for a reason.  So the discussion is on the table.  It would be a phone that would mostly stay here at home for emergencies.  Right now we can’t think of a situation where he would need to take it with him somewhere, but he is getting older and will be doing more and more independently.  Besides it is cheaper for us to get him a cell phone and add a line to our cell plan than to get a landline home phone, so it’s cell or nothing.  I”m sure we will get him one sooner or later (but I have a feeling it will be sooner.)
