I don’t really have too many updates right now. I’ve been trying to catch up on reading blogs that I follow and that has lead me down the path of wishing I would just unschool and then I wouldn’t have to worry about all this curriculum stuff and making sure it gets done and worrying about when plans change that I have to reschedule the school day stuff. Some things would be easier, but I also worry if that is the right way to go. Oh, the dilemmas.
I do want to direct you to this post over at “the parenting pit”. It’s a cute one from a homeschooling dad about before he had children. http://theparentingpit.com/2008/06/15/before-i-had-children/

Oh, I know. I try to be ‘eclectic’ and I know it drives some poeple crazy when I say I unschool (because how can I do that if I use a virtual school?) But I do some stuff that I think is unschooly, I do some stuff that’s unit study, I do some stuff that’s curriculum, I do some stuff that’s lap-bookish, but I can’t count that as unschooling.
Well, then what am I? I guess eclectic-unschooly-virtual-lapbook-unitstudy-HS’er.
I think you can unschool and use curriculum too, especially as you progress into higher grades. Using math counters is cute for Grace, but I haven’t found out how to use cheerios to teach algebra yet.
