Reading Programs

The reading programs that Tyler is involved in (currently, the one at the library and the one at TKD) might be a bust.  Tyler has been reading lots of books, but not putting them on either book list.  I’ve been reminding him and reminding him, but he just doesn’t seem interested anymore.  He’s perfectly content to read his books and know that he’s read the books.  I’ve even tried to get him interested again by explaining that he is working towards prizes with the library program and more links with the TKD program.  No such luck.  He told me he doesn’t need those things in order to read.  Hmmm…maybe the kid is too smart for his britches.

Although, I’m not really complaining that he is a reader.  I’d rather he read because he enjoys it than always having to come up with a new bribe to get him to read.  So I’m going to step aside and let him decide whether he wants to write down what he reads on his reading lists or not and just be happy that he is reading.
