Start of an interesting vacation week

Yesterday was an interesting day at our house.  It was the first day of vacation and Tyler stayed active all day.  He was running around outside, reading, making cards for his monster game that he is designing, more running, more reading, eating, eating, eating, playing, playing, playing.  Then he tells me that he is going to be a natural healer and is collecting leaves from plants in this one container and I’m not supposed to throw it away.  Now we already have a TKD studio downstairs where he is the instructor and his stuffed animals attend class; he is in the process of designing a few games where he is making the boards, cards, pieces, etc; he’s reading Harry Potter 5, Ulysses Moore Book 3, various graphic novels, Magic Treehouse and the last Yu-Gi-Oh! book that our library has at any location (because he has learned how to place holds); we are also worm composting, bug collecting, and bird watching (hey, the birds are having babies again so it’s interesting); and yesterday he started a fishing store and bait shop in his room and is using his Magnetix for the fishing poles and poker chips for the fish (blue chips are bluegill, red chips are redeyes and white chips are any other fish, I’ve heard bass, pike and catfish.)  So I was interested in where the whole natural healer concept came from, not because I don’t want him to be one, but more just how did he get from point A to point B.  It turns out that one of his 3 favorite ninjas in these graphic novels that he is reading is a healer.  So that lead to Tyler needing to be a healer as well.  Sounds good, I guess I can’t complain that he isn’t getting anything out of those graphic novels.  So last night he was out collecting leaves and he showed me this itty-bitty scratch on his hand (you almost had to use a magnifying glass to see it.)  But I was not to worry (not like I was going to) because he was going to use his leaves to heal it.  Well, I don’t know if tulip leaves have any healing powers for scratches, but I haven’t heard that it is still an issue, so I’m guessing they did last night.  Like I said, an interesting day.

I have been working on the pictures, like I’ve mentioned in previous posts, and I came across some old pictures of Tyler.  So I put together a little collection of pictures of him growing up.  I still can’t believe that he’s 8.  I’m sure it was yesterday when he was still a baby that I was carrying around.  Anyways, here they are:
